1. Who is responsible

This policy covers the Better Sudoku app and this website.

2. Data we process

You can play without an account. Local game progress, preferences, and statistics are stored on your device.

If you create or use an account, we process the account information supplied by you or your sign-in provider, together with the settings, game progress, results, and profile information you choose to sync. Game results may include the puzzle, mode, difficulty, completion time, mistakes, hints, date, and timezone.

We also process technical information needed to operate and secure the service. If you contact us, we process your contact details and message so we can respond.

3. Purchases and optional rewarded ads

Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Adapty helps us manage purchase attribution and Premium access. These providers may process transaction, device, network, and app information. We do not receive your payment-card details.

Optional rewarded ads are provided by Google AdMob. If you choose to view one, Google may process device identifiers, IP address, advertising consent, and ad interaction information. Consent choices are requested where required.

4. Why we process data

We process data to provide the app and account features, sync your progress, verify purchases and rewards, protect the service, respond to support requests, and meet legal obligations. The legal bases are performance of our contract, consent where required, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service.

5. Sharing and international transfers

We use an Appwrite-based backend and service providers including our hosting infrastructure, Adapty, Google, and Apple where needed for the functions described above. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area using legally recognised safeguards. We do not sell personal data.

6. Storage and deletion

Local data remains on your device until you remove it or delete the app. Synced account data is kept while your account exists and as long as necessary for the purposes described above. You can delete your account and its synced data from the app. Limited records may be retained where required by law or necessary to prevent abuse.

7. This website

The website host processes standard request information such as IP address, browser details, requested page, and time for delivery and security. The site loads its font from Google. Download links may pass through Adapty for attribution. The support form uses Google reCAPTCHA to prevent abuse and Resend to deliver your message. Those services receive the information necessary to perform those tasks. The marketing pages do not use analytics or advertising cookies.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or receive your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.

9. Children

Better Sudoku is not directed at children below the minimum age required to consent to online services in their country.

10. Changes

We may update this policy when the app or legal requirements change. The current version and update date will remain available on this page.
